Oh, tonight will be great, it?s new year?s eve here.. Not exactly but that?s how they promote it.
There?s this navybase island just on the shore of Helsinki. Tonight they have the annual Finnish championships of FIREWORKS! Hours of fireworks!! We always go to a nearby park to watch and have beer.. But this year my friend is taking his motorboat and I got a place too! So I?m going to go out to see, have my cider on the deck and just watch the fireworks hit the nightsky. Awesome [img]cool.gif[/img]

Oh, and get this!!! My grandfather is looking for a building to buy so we can sell them there too and guess who gets to run it? ME AND JOHN!!! I don't recall being asked if that's what I want to do...I was just more or less told that he was going to buy another building and me and John were gonna run it. Oh yaayy *sarcastic*

Really, is it lucrative? Does the shop kind of survive the whole year even though fireworks are shot only on a few occasions? That would actually be very nice then! I hate working in an all the time busy place. Did it once and am NOT doing that again LOL!
But, whippee, you can run it with John, and then your two sons can work there too, and their children, and it could be a kinda family get-together thing in the firework store! [img]tongue.gif[/img]

Maria, we actually do pretty well during fireworks season. On New Years Eve alone, we usually make a $10,000 profit!! Since my grandfather runs his business in the back of the store, if someone wants to buy fireworks during the "off" season, he'll let them come in and buy some. We usually don't sell much during the off season though. Sometimes people will come in and buy them for birthday parties and stuff like that but not too often. I know I save money on party favors to put in the little bags at my kids birthday parties LOL!! I put the little pull string poppers in there, the little things that you throw on the ground and they pop and the little things that look like tiny little champagne bottles and you pull the string and confetti comes out of it (those are so cute), and some sparklers. The kids love it!!!
